Commissioner strips CWE Title! Sep 19, 2007

Cweaction.com was shocked to hear from an anonymous tipster that CWE Canadian Champion Reggie Marley had lost his title, and he wasn't even pinned to do so.

Earlier today we received official confirmation from interim CWE Commissioner Ian Prindible about this latest turn of developments.  Prindible confirmed our deepest fears, "On Sept 12, I was paid a visit to my office from the former CWE Canadian Champion, Mr. Ruffy Silverstein. Mr. Silverstein had some concerns over a contract from an event held sometime months ago".

The event in question was the Norwood Nightmare on June 26, 2007.  On this night a new CWE Champion was crowned - "Jamaican Sensation" Reggie Marley.  The event, originally titled Havelock Heat 2007 was set to take place in the Havelock arena in Havelock Ontario on the same date.  Due to maintenance of the arena, a new venue was required and the event was moved to neighbouring Norwood.

"This was exactly the problem that Ruffy had", continued the interim CWE Commissioner.  "Ruffy showed me his copy of the contract. It clearly stated that the event was to take place at the Havelock Arena in Havelock Ontario on June 26, 2007.  Ruffy pointed out that there was no mention of Norwood ANYWHERE on the contract.

Cweaction.com contacted Ruffy.  Ruffy informed us, "There was no show in Norwood.  How could there be?  I NEVER signed a contract for any show in Norwood. I signed a contract for CWE Canadian Championship between myslef and that Marley character for Havelock Ontario - NOT NORWOOD!  Since I never signed such a contract, the match never technically took place. My title was not on the line, and I am STILL the rightful CWE Canadian Champion".

Commissioner Prindible had the CWE legal team sort thoroughly through the contract to measure the validity of Ruffy's claim.  "He's got us between a rock and a hard place", explained the exasperated interim commissioner.  "Ruffy has a strong legal point.  The contract was written in such a way that did not allow for the slightest of deviations.  As a result, he is correct. As much as I hate to do this, I need to follow the letter of the law, despite how misguided I feel Ruffy's intentions are.  As a result I am hereby returning the CWE Canadian Championship to it's "lawful owner", Ruffy Silverstein".

Cweaction.com is shocked to learn of this development.  We want to hear what you think in regards to this. Please voice your concerns to the commissioner.  He can be reached at his email address: cwecommissioner@hotmail.com
